This is the place where you can personalize your profile!
But, how?
By moving, adding and personalizing widgets.
You can drag and drop to rearrange.
You can edit widgets to customize them.
The left side has widgets you can add!
Some widgets you can only access when you get a premium membership.
Some widgets have options that are only available when you get a premium membership.
We've split the page into zones!
Certain widgets can only be added to certain zones.
"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!
Now go forth and astound us all with your devious profiles!
Excuse me, but do you know where I could find a Ragnarok Online Nude Base? Wanted to experiment with making custom clothes for RO, but for the life of me I cant even find someone who looks like they might know of where to find them.
I really don't know how to respond to this, but I hope you're prepared to report a lot of other artists. I spend hours on these, redrawing and changing everything, pixel by pixel. So really, they're more in the light of a pastiche than anything else. I don't just drop a few colors and say "done!"
You can report me if you like, but I'm not making any commercial gain from this and I fail to see how this is different from fan art. Thank you for your concern, but I'll continue as I see fit because I do this for pleasure.
Of course I report them - what they do is ILLEGAL. You realise that you're taking SOMEONE ELSE'S HARD WORK, and butchering it to your own liking ? I don't care how MUCH you edited them - they don't belong to you, they never did, and they never will. Unless you tell me you have Gravity's written permission to edit their sprites, what you're doing is ILLEGAL.
Commercial gain has nothing to do with it - if you see someone killing another person and they tell you "hey! I'm not killing them to make money!" will you not call the cops? Stupid logic.
This is different from fan art because:
1. Fan-art is done from scratch - they don't go taking around someone else's picture and editing it (and if they do, it is illegal as well). 2. A fan art is done to show appreciation for a certain series - you're doing this because you enjoy ripping off other people's work. You don't even have the decency to put it in the fan-art gallery, NO, you call it "adopted base" - that is a fucking insult.
If you do, then deviantART will ban you, are you aware of that ? What is so wrong with making something YOURS ? Are you really that pathetic ?
Fine, keep on breaking policy and LAW - then I can just ban you from this site .

I DID put them in fanart, and they were moved to Adopted base, by the DA mods themselves. If you feel insulted, that isn't my fault.
Why do you think these aren't a tribute to Ragnarok Online as well?
As for commercial gain, yes, that IS a point, because fan art is technically illegal as well. You're talking about crimes in the context of copyright. Killing is strictly non sequitur. If Gravity wants to take it up with me, I'd gladly cease and desist. However, I doubt a huge corporation really cares that much unless they're losing money.
I understand your point, and I know that I won't change your mind. As for your point regarding original pixel art, I've been spriting and dolling for years now. I have plenty of original work that I choose not to post, mostly because it's out of date and I do it as a hobby. Understand that I've made these because I WANT to, not because I can't make other things. I don't claim these as high art, because they aren't. They're something cute that I enjoy making.
I'm sorry you're so upset. If a DA mod asks me to take them down, I'll happily oblige. However, now that they're reported, I'm sure they'll handle the matter themselves and don't need a white knight to muddy the waters. Frankly, your threats of them banning me don't really scare me. I'm not all that active to begin with, I just use this to share work with friends.
Your work must be a 100% yours - and don't come with "but they're adopted bases!!!" because they aren't.
I've reported all of them, so please don't do this anymore.
Play fair, do your own stuff

How sad.
